Boston’s Tacko Fall counsels fans to avoid panic, stay in, wash hands

Boston Celtics fan favorite Tacko Fall is leveraging some of that Tacko Mania for the public good with his new message for fans on the coronavirus pandemic.

Boston Celtics two way center Tacko Fall joined the chorus of his teammates advocating for caution in the midst of the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

The pandemic is responsible for suspending the NBA season indefinitely while the league — and the world — figure out the best path forward for all of our safety and well-being.

And now the Senegalese center is following up the messages of caution and solidarity delivered by fellow Celtics Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum with a request for care with how we all conduct ourselves with regard to the virus wreaking havoc in all of our lives right now.

“Hey, guys — it’s Tacko. Just wanted to share a few words with you all. At times like this, I just wanted to say it’s very important not to panic. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take all the precautions necessary to keep this in check.

It’s our responsibility to stop the spread of this virus, so make sure you avoid going to crowded places … whatever it may be to keep this in check. If you need to stay at home, stay at home. But, make sure you stay clean and most importantly, WASH. YOUR. HANDS.”

Sage advice from a man with a lot more hands than most of to wash, and overall sound counsel for a fanbase also struggling with social distancing and other changes in our lives necessitated by this virus.

With many still not taking the situation as seriously as they could, messages like this are critical to turning the tide of public opinion while there’s still time to slow the impact of the spread of coronavirus infection.
