Boston’s Jayson Tatum comes out top three in new HoopsHype poll on top players to build around

“Tatum has an elite ability to create and maintain advantages on the offensive end,” said an unnamed NBA executive included in the polling.

In a new article by HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, he shares the results of his asking 15 NBA executives to rate the top five players in the league they would most like to build around. Star Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum came in second.

Just ahead of Memphis Grizzlies star point guard Ja Morant and just behind Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic, the Celtics swingman received 69.3% of the maximum points possible. He received 11 of 15 second-place votes from the executives contacted by Scotto. He was also No. 2 overall when this survey was last done in January of 2022.
