A new round of fan voting returns is in for the 2023 NBA All-Star Game, and the positions of the Boston Celtics’ two star forwards Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown having improved.

In the case of the former, the St. Louis native has solidified his third-place position among Eastern Conference forwards. With at 4.5 million votes, Tatum leads Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid by just over 100,000 votes. He trails Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant’s 5.8 million votes by a fair amount.

In the East backcourt, Brown has also moved up, passing Philadelphia 76ers star James Harden. With 2.1 million votes, Brown has about a 100,000 vote lead on Harden. He will not catch Donovan Mitchell of the Cleveland Cavaliers, who has 3.8 million votes.

That doesn’t mean Tatum or Brown are locked into their positions. The fan vote counts just 50% toward the overall vote. Media (25%) and player voting (25%) account for the rest.
