Boston’s Jaylen Brown credits ‘retrograde energy shift’ for Celtics’ 2021-22 season turnaround

“I tweeted it out, and we went on a win streak,” says Brown of his “energy is about to shift” message on the popular social media platform.

The Boston Celtics started their 2021-22 NBA season treading water, but with the arrival of the new year, the Celtics’ fortunes appeared to be moving in a different direction. Slowly, the team started to win more than they lost, and as the 2022 NBA All-Star game drew near, star Boston forward Jaylen Brown took stock of the bigger picture and tweeted that “the energy is about to shift” at the end of the month of January.

And while it was not (just) about basketball as the Georgia native would later clarify, it lined up nicely with a shift in the Celtics’ play. “I tweeted it out, and we went on a win streak,” shared Brown while talking over the now-famous tweet with ESPN’s Malika Andrews on a recent episode of “NBA Today”.
