Boston’s Enes Kanter has a message for you from NBA Cares

Boston Celtics center Enes Kanter has a message about the coronavirus for you from NBA Cares.

Boston Celtics big man Enes Kanter recently recorded a public service announcement with NBA Cares about the coronavirus continuing to haunt us and threatening to send several US states back into lockdown.

Kanter, always an outspoken voice on a variety of issues, lent his words to the cause of keeping us all safe with a reminder to continue treating the deadly virus seriously, and to take the proper precautions to stay safe.

“What’s up, everybody? This is Enes Kanter from the Boston Celtics, and I just wanted to say we need to continue to stay strong and protect ourselves and the ones we love,” he began.

“Make sure to wear a mask in public, social distance, avoid large crowds, and most importantly, please wash your hands. And stay home if you’re not feeling well! Only together we can fight this and move forward. Thank you guys so much.”

The Turkish big man has been among the league’s most vocal supporters for such scientifically sound interventions to minimize the spread of the disease behind the three month NBA shutdown.

He even shared a video of himself getting one of the more invasive types of coronavirus tests after participating  in protests for racial justice in Boston.

As many feel the urge to act as if things are back to normal, it’s good to hear a sober reminder like this one that they are still very far from it, so please heed the warning Kanter provides — wear a mask, wash your hands, and stay home if sick.
