Boston’s Al Horford’s hustle is earning him rave reviews

Al Horford continues to be a valuable member of the Boston Celtics rotation, despite moving into a bench role to begin the new season.

Al Horford is playing an unfamiliar role for the Boston Celtics this season. The veteran big man has been shifted to the bench since the arrival of Kristaps Porzingis but has come up big whenever tasked with stepping into the starting lineup. Against the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday (Nov. 26,) Horford once again made his presence felt, ending the game with a game-high 15 rebounds.

It’s that type of hustle and production that has kept Al Horford in the league and why, at age 37, he is still considered to be an integral member of a contending team. Following Horford’s big night against his former team, Jayson Tatum had some high praise for his favorite teammate.

“You know, that’s contagious, the crowd feeds off of that, we feed off of that, and he’s, he’s that guy on our team,” Tatum said. “Everybody loves him and respects him. Night in and night out, he does things like that, that we can’t say ‘thank you’ enough for.”

Horford will continue to be a bench contributor who plugs gaps in the roster throughout the season.

His ability to produce in different areas of the floor based on team needs is incredibly valuable, and hopefully, a slightly smaller role during the season will ensure he’s at his best once the playoffs begin.
