Boston Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett to launch new 3-on-3 streetball league

The Big Ticket’s new league differs in that it is less a place for retired NBAers to suit up and more a streetball league.

The world of 3-on-3 basketball just got a little more crowded for Ice Cube’s Big3, with Hall of Fame Boston Celtics big man Kevin Garnett making a foray into running his own 3-on-3 basketball league to be dubbed “STR33T”.

The Big Ticket’s new league differs in that it is less a place for retired NBAers to suit up and more a streetball league, and will begin play in early 2024 per CBS Sports’ Colin Ward-Henninger earlier this month. The league is a partnership between KG’s Big Ticket Sports and the Pro League Network. The series will feature men’s, women’s, and co-ed teams with daily and season-long prize pool for the four-week season, and will play under FIBA 3×3 rules and aims to showcase the fast-paced and exciting nature of streetball.

Big Ticket Sports also owns HoopItUp, a 3-on-3 basketball tour that has been going on since 1989.

“HoopItUp is the leader in 3×3 and I’m excited to work with the PLN team to create a professional series with STR33T that gives the incredible 3×3 players a major platform to show what they can do to fans across the country,” offered Garnett on his new league.

“With the average 3×3 basketball game taking less than 20 minutes, we believe STR33T is tailormade for digital consumption and sports betting. We are thrilled to be collaborating with Bill, Mike, and the PLN team on this dynamic venture,” said Big Ticket Sports and HoopItUp CEO George Daniel.
