Boston College joins three other ACC football teams in AP Top 25

With Boston College breaking into the Associated Press top 25, the ACC had four representatives in this week’s rankings.

The Associated Press released its top 25 teams for Week 3 of the college football season on Sunday, and four ACC football programs made the rankings.

The Miami Hurricanes remained the dominant top team in the conference, moving up two spots to No. 10 overall after a 56-9 victory over Florida A&M.

After preseason conference favorite Florida State lost its first two games of the season, the entire power structure got thrown into chaos. Georgia Tech, who upset the Seminoles in Week 0, looked like one of this year’s darlings before a loss against Syracuse this past week.

Louisville, who played the Seminoles in last year’s conference championship, moved up three spots to No. 19 after a blowout win over Jacksonville State. The Clemson Tigers, who have won two national championships in the past decade, finished at No. 22, while Boston College, who upset Florida State in Week 2, jumped into the bottom of the rankings at No. 24.

Three other teams in the conference received votes in this week’s poll (Syracuse, North Carolina, and California).
