Boston Celtics sign Xavier Tillman Sr. to two-year deal

It was especially important for the Celtics to bring back reserve big man Xavier Tillman Sr. to help shore up the depth in Boston’s frontcourt rotation.

The Boston Celtics are likely going to be without the services of star center Kristaps Porzingis for much of the looming 2024-25 NBA season as the Boston big man recovers from the injury that he picked up early in the 2024 NBA Finals.

For this reason, it was especially important for the Celtics to bring back reserve big man Xavier Tillman Sr. to help shore up the depth in Boston’s frontcourt rotation. Now, with Tillman back in the fold along with reserve centers Neemias Queta and Luke Kornet (who just signed their own new deals with Boston), the Celtics look poised to weather KP’s absence.

The hosts of the CLNS Media “How Bout Them Celtics!” podcast, Jack Simone and Sam LaFrance, took a closer look at the deal and what it means for Boston. Check it out below!
