The dominant play of star Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum could have easily been the story of the night in the Celtics’ recent 118-110 road win vs. the Brooklyn Nets. But the St. Louis native shifted to a decoy role after putting 31 points on the Nets in the game’s first half.
Tatum would finish the game with 41 points to lead all scorers, and put up 14 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals and a block in one of his best performances of the NBA’s 2023-24 seasons to date. All five Celtics starters would score in double figures thanks in part to Tatum’s shift in strategy, and the use of “hack-a” strategy in the tilt’s first half vs. Ben Simmons and Nick Claxton was also a fun wrinkle.
The hosts of the CLNS Media “How Bout Them Celtics!” podcast took some time to talk about the win on a recent episode.
