The Boston Celtics hung on to beat the Brooklyn Nets 115 – 114 on their home court of TD Garden this Easter Sunday with a brilliant pass from Marcus Smart to Jayson Tatum that kept the Celtics from falling behind 0 – 1 in the first round of the NBA’s 2022 Eastern Conference Playoffs.
Boston’s defense helped hold Brooklyn star forward Kevin Durant to 9-of-24 shooting and just 1-of-5 from beyond the arc, and still managed to grind out a victory with former Celtics and current Nets point guard Kyrie Irving going off for 39 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals in a truly impressive performance.
It was a true team effort on Boston’s part, with four players scoring at least 20 points; check out the clip embedded below to see all of the best plays from the Game 1 win.
