Boston Celtics back on top of Bleacher Report’s NBA power rankings

“No one’s been steadier than the Boston Celtics,” writes B/R.

The Boston Celtics are back on top of Bleacher Report’s NBA power rankings after a strong week of play from the Eastern Conference‘s top ball club. “No one’s been steadier than the Boston Celtics, who are starting to separate themselves from the rest of the league both in terms of winning percentage and net rating,” wrote Bleacher Report’s Andy Bailey before Boston’s loss to the Denver Nuggets.

“Halfway through the season, they’re the only team left in the NBA with a single-digit loss total (or were, anyway – ed.),” he continued. “And as long as they’re not on the second night of a back-to-back or dealing with some other schedule quirk, just about any combination of their top guys guarantees competitiveness.”

“As long as they have at least two of their regular starters (Jayson Tatum, Derrick White, Kristaps Porziņģis, Jaylen Brown and Jrue Holiday) on the floor, they’re plus-10.7 points per 100 possessions,” notes the B/R analyst.

They might dip in B/R’s next round of power rankings after finally seeing their historic home win streak snapped, but for now, it’s nice to be back in the saddle again for Cs fans.
