Prediction
Lakers 114, Celtics 112
Moneyline (ML)
The Lakers (-278) have been fantastic at home this season, winning 19 of their 26 games at Staples Center. The Celtics (+220) have been great on the road this season, too, going 16-11 away from the TD Garden. After being blown-out in their previous meeting, look for the Lakers to get revenge Sunday, but the odds are too chalky for a moneyline wager. PASS and look to the spread for better value.
Line/Against the Spread (ATS)
The Lakers (-6.5, -115) are big favorites over the CELTICS (+6.5, -106). While the Lakers have the better overall record this season, the Celtics have been better against the spread. Boston has covered the spread in 10 of its last 14 games and is 33-20-2 against the spread this season. Add on the fact that the C’s have won nine of their last 10 games and it’s not hard to make the case they will cover once again Sunday.
Over/Under (O/U)
The total for this game is set for 226.5, which feels just about right. Both of these teams have been outstanding on defense this season, and I expect this game to be a physical grind on both ends of the court. I like the UNDER 226.5 (-110) to hit in Los Angeles Sunday, but it will be tight.
