The 2024 college football season has concluded for Tennessee (10-3, 6-2 SEC). The Vols were eliminated by Ohio State in the first round of the College Football Playoff.
Freshman defensive back Boo Carter totaled three tackles in Tennessee’s season finale against the Buckeyes. His season-high for tackles in a game was seven against Florida.
The 5-foot-11, 195-pound freshman recorded 38 tackles, three tackles for a loss, one sack, one interception, one pass deflection, three quarterback hurries and 198 punt return yards for the Vols in 2024.
Carter recorded at least one tackle in every contest. He started the final five regular-season contests at the STAR position.
The freshman also started at STAR and played 40 defensive snaps against Georgia, recording three tackles. He played a season-high 45 snaps versus Alabama (three tackles).
Carter earned 2024 SEC All-Freshman Team honors and was named SEC Freshman of the Week on Oct. 14 after his performance against the Gators.
