Defensive back Boo Carter completed his freshman season at Tennessee (10-3, 6-2 SEC) in 2024. The 5-foot-11, 195-pound freshman started the final five regular-season games at the star position.
Following the College Football Playoff, Carter announced he will return to Tennessee as a sophomore in 2025.
He appeared in all 13 games for the Vols, recording 38 tackles, three tackles for a loss, one sack, one interception, one pass deflection and 198 punt return yards. Carter totaled three tackles against Ohio State in the College Football Playoff first round.
He was an early enrollee in January and participated in Citrus Bowl practices to conclude the 2023 football season.
Carter is from Bradley Central High School in Cleveland, Tennessee.
