Bobby Wagner visited the Ravens, who have ‘high interest’ in him

The Rams aren’t the only team Bobby Wagner is considering, paying the Ravens a visit, too.

The Los Angeles Rams had Bobby Wagner in for a visit this week, making their interest in the All-Pro linebacker public. There’s mutual interest in getting a deal done, but the Rams aren’t alone in their pursuit of Wagner.

According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Wagner also visited the Baltimore Ravens on Friday. The Raven have “high interest” in signing him, which is bad news for the Rams.

The Rams let him leave the building without a contract, a somewhat surprising development. But Wagner is clearly taking his time in this process, his first taste of free agency. He also doesn’t have an agent and represents himself, which is an added wrinkle in this process.

Les Snead said the Rams talked about signing Wagner and watched film of him with defensive coaches to see if he’d be a fit. He’s no longer in his prime, but Wagner is still one of the best linebackers anywhere in the NFL and the Rams would be lucky to have him.

They just have to get the financial part of it right because they have other holes to fill and not a ton of cap space to use.
