Bo Nix’s pass to Marvin Mims was longest in the NFL (watch this amazing view)

Bo Nix’s touchdown pass to Marvin Mims traveled 67 air yards, making it the longest completion in the NFL this season.

In the fourth quarter of Saturday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos rookie quarterback launched a deep touchdown pass to wide receiver Marvin Mims to tie the game at 17-17.

From the line of scrimmage to the end zone marked 51 yards, but Nix was deep in the pocket and threw the ball deep into the end zone. His pass traveled 67 “air yards,” marking the longest completion of the 2024 season, according to NFL Next Gen Stats.

It also marked the second-longest “air yards” throw since the NFL starting tracking advanced stats in 2016, only trailing P.J. Walker’s throw to D.J. Moore in 2022 that traveled 67.6 yards.

“[It] was set up off a play action, and he just ran through the defense,” Broncos coach Sean Payton said after the game. “It was a great throw and a great catch.”

The catch marked Mims’ second touchdown catch longer than 50 yards this season after he previously hauled in a 93-yard catch and run against the Cleveland Browns in Week 13.

Nix now has 3,454 passing yards and 25 touchdown passes on the year, making him just the fifth quarterback in NFL history to throw for at least 3,000 yards and 25 touchdowns as a rookie. Nix also rushed for four scores this year and caught a touchdown, giving him 30 total TDs in 2024.
