Florida football’s recruiting staff has a big weekend ahead of it as they dig deeper into the month of March with a myriad of high school prospects paying a visit to the Swamp. Among those making a stop in Gainesville to get a gander at what the Gators have cooking is four-star safety [autotag]Brandon Jacob[/autotag] out of Orlando (Florida) Evans.
The 6-foot-2-inch, 170-pound defensive back in the 2024 cycle dropped in to see [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] and Co. back in late January and came away with a scholarship offer.
“I feel like with their fits and schemes, I can be an all-around DB on the field here,” he told Gators Online following that visit. “I feel as if I dropped a top 10 soon, they would be in it.”
The high school junior is currently embarked on a college bus tour that also saw him visit the Kentucky Wildcats before Florida, as well as stops with the Florida State Seminoles, Tennessee Volunteers and Louisville Cardinals this week. The list of other suitors includes the Alabama Crimson Tide, Texas A&M Aggies, Auburn Tigers, South Carolina Gamecocks, Penn State Nittany Lions, West Virginia Mountaineers and Nebraska Cornhuskers, among others.
Jacob is ranked No. 240 overall and No. 19 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 193 and 15, respectively. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine currently has the Seminoles on top with a 35.9% chance of signing him, while the Central Florida Knights, Gators and Miami Hurricanes trail behind at 21.3%, 9.6% and 8%, respectively.
