The Buccaneers are making the most of what they have without wide receivers following injuries to Chris Godwin and Mike Evans. The team has started utilizing Cade Otton more at the tight end position but they need something more.
Bleacher Report has an idea for finding the Bucs a short-term answer to help the passing game out.
Even with Mike Evans projected to return after the Bye Week, they need some help if they want to contend. Bleacher Report projects a trade for Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers saying, “With Chris Godwin out for the year and Mike Evans sidelined for a while, the Buccanneers can use some wide receiver help. Meanwhile, the Raiders are sitting at 2-6 and might be willing to part with Meyers, who has 31 catches for 325 yards a touchdown this season, for a draft pick.”
Meyers has emerged in recent years and quietly become a consistent receiving option. His size allows him to have mismatches, and in Liam Coen’s offense, with Baker Mayfield throwing him the ball, he has a chance to produce if acquired.
