Bleacher Report identifies two defensive spots as Vikings’ biggest weakness

The Minnesota Vikings have two huge holes on the defense, according to Bleacher Report.

Quarterback is usually the first position you think of the Minnesota Vikings. Minnesota signed Sam Darnold this offseason and drafted J.J. McCarthy with the 10th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. But with McCarthy’s knee injury, it appears Darnold will enter Week 1 as the starter.

While the quarterback remains a potential weakness on the roster, Bleacher Report noted two other big weaknesses on the Vikings’ roster:

Interior pass rush and cornerback.

Minnesota has Harrison Phillips, but not much after him. The Vikings have had bad luck with their cornerback spot and just traded away second-round bust Andrew Booth Jr. The Vikings brought in Stephon Gilmore for a visit, but he left without a contract.

Bleacher Report believes the Vikings should look into Falcons’ cornerback AJ Terrell this next offseason if he enters free agency. The Vikings will need to make a decision on Byron Murphy, who is also set to enter free agency.
