Bleacher Report identifies defensive positions as two of Vikings’ biggest weaknesses

The Minnesota Vikings have two huge holes on the defense, according to Bleacher Report.

With J.J. McCarthy’s knee injury, it appears Sam Darnold will enter Week 1 as the starting quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings.

While quarterback is perhaps the biggest weakness on the roster, Bleacher Report noted two other position groups that could be problems:

Interior pass rush and cornerback.

Minnesota has Harrison Phillips, but not much after him. The Vikings have had bad luck at cornerback and traded away second-round bust Andrew Booth Jr. this month. The Vikings brought in Stephon Gilmore for a visit, but he left without a contract.

Bleacher Report believes the Vikings should look at Falcons cornerback A.J. Terrell this next offseason if he enters free agency. The Vikings will need to make a decision on Byron Murphy, who is also set to enter free agency.
