Amid one of the league’s most tumultuous situations in the wake of the firing of longtime Portland Trail Blazers general manager Neal Oshey comes a report that ought to raise the eyebrows of Boston Celtics fans around the world.
Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer reported Tuesday, buried deep in an article on the future of the Portland franchise in the wake of Oshey’s firing that Blazers star point guard Damian Lillard had shared in the past that he “expressed interest in playing with” Celtics star forward Jaylen Brown ever since the 2020 NBA season. Don’t let yourself get too excited, however, as this is not part of some blockbuster trade in the making — more of an afterthought that bubbled up in the bigger picture of the tectonic shifts taking place in Portland.
It will of course be filed away for future trade calls undoubtedly, but for now there are many other things going on with the Trail Blazers to keep an eye on before anyone gets moved anywhere.
