Bills RB Damien Harris taken off field in ambulance after suffering neck injury

The Bills’ Damien Harris was taken to the hospital in an ambulance after suffering a neck injury

A frightening scene at Highmark Stadium in the second quarter Sunday as Buffalo Bills running back Damien Harris was injured and taken off the field in an ambulance.

Harris was hit on a running play and remained down on the field.

An ambulance was brought onto the turf and Harris was placed on a backboard. He raised a thumb to the crowd.

He was loaded into the ambulance and taken to a  hospital.

Harris suffered a neck injury and had feeling in his arms and legs.

Any such scene within the NFL — or the Bills, especially — brings back memories of last year’s incident when Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac event against the Bengals in Cincinnati.

Hamlin is still with the Bills. He was on the sidelines during the game with the Giants, inactive for the fifth time this season.
