Bills final injury report: Backup DE Dawuane Smoot added on Friday

Check out which Buffalo Bills won’t play and who might not in Week 1 against the Cardinals.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Mitchell Trubisky has no injury designation, so he appears set to be Josh Allen’s backup in the game when they face the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. However, backup defensive end Dawuane Smoot was added to the report on Friday because of a toe injury.

The details of the Bills’ final injury report are below.

Ruled out

DE Javon Solomon (oblique)

Solomon did not participate in practice for the Bills all week.

Questionable

DE Dawuane Smoot (toe)

The Bills could be shorthanded at end if Smoot, who was added to the report and did not practice Friday, is unable to play and with Solomon already declared out.

That leaves only backups Von Miller and Casey Touhill on the edge. It’s possible the Bills could elevate either Kameron Cline or Kingsley Jonathan from the practice squad.

Smoot was signed in May after becoming a Jaguars unrestricted free agent in March. Although he had only one sack last season, in the previous four in Jacksonville, he totaled 22.5 sacks and 24 tackles for loss.

No injury designation

S Cole Bishop (shoulder), TE Quintin Morris (shoulder), WR Curtis Samuel (toe), QB Mitchell Trubisky (knee)

Trubisky was limited on Wednesday, but then practiced fully the next two days. Samuel had full participation all week.
