Bill Belichick reveals how he plans to coach at the college level

Make sure you watch Bill Belichick’s Monday interview on the Pat McAfee show.

There’s a ton of media coverage surrounding the North Carolina Tar Heels’ football program right now – and it has to do with their top candidate for head coach.

That candidate is none other than Bill Belichick, a 6-time Super Bowl Champion with the New England Patriots and 3-time AP NFL Coach of the Year.

Ahead of the 2024 NFL season and after 24 years in New England, Belichick agreed to part ways with the dynasty he was so instrumental in building.

UNC’s talks with Belichick ramped up in recent days, but there is yet to be a decision made.

On Monday, Dec. 9 during an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, Belichick elaborated on his plans if he coaches at North Carolina – or anywhere at the college level – one in which he has no experience.

“The college program would be a pipeline to the NFL – for the players that had the ability to play in the NFL,” Belichick told McAfee. “It would be a professional program: training, nutrition, scheme, coaching and techniques that would transfer to the NFL. It will be an NFL program at a college level – and an education that would get the players ready for their career after football, whether that was the end of their college career or their pro career. I feel very confident that I have the contacts, in the National Football League, to pave the way for those players that would have the ability to compete in the National Football League. It would be an NFL program, but not at the NFL level.”

If UNC athletic director Bubba Cunningham needs any more incentive to hire the greatest coach of all-time, he needs to watch Belichick’s interview.

Belichick could easily bring the Tar Heels, who are consistently mediocre despite their tremendous access to resources, into national relevance and get people excited about North Carolina football again.
