Former New England Patriots wide receiver Reche Caldwell was shot and killed in Tampa Bay on Sunday. His tragic death stemmed from a robbery that happened outside of his Tampa home.
Caldwell, 41, spent the 2006 season in New England and played alongside Tom Brady — who quickly shared a photo of the two after Caldwell’s death was announced. He had his best season in New England under Bill Belichick — who released a statement on Sunday.
“I am saddened to hear the news about Reche,” Belichick said. “He is remembered for his solid contribution to our team. My thoughts and prayers are with Reche’s family.”
