Bill Belichick releases statement on new television role

Bill Belichick’s statement on new television role

It was announced on Thursday that former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick had accepted a new role as an analyst on “Inside The NFL” on The CW.

Following the news, Belichick issued a statement on his latest job move, via the Boston Herald’s Doug Kyed.

“I’m thrilled to join my new team at NFL Films and to work on such a historic television franchise,” Belichick said in a statement. “I’ve always appreciated ‘Inside the NFL’s’ depth of analysis, and I hope to bring the same detailed insight to The CW by talking real football with real pros – Ryan (Clark), Chris (Long) and Chad (Johnson) – this coming season.”

Belichick has made several appearances in recent months.

He appeared at “The Roast of Tom Brady” Netflix special, as well as Brady’s Patriots Hall of Fame induction ceremony. He first appeared on television back in April and joined in the draft coverage with “The Pat McAfee Show.”

Now, he will be looking to go from draft analyst to regular season analyst, starting with the season premiere of “Inside The NFL” on August 30.

Belichick will certainly be an asset to the program with his wealth of coaching knowledge and experience. He spent the last 24 years building an all-time great Patriots dynasty.

It will be fun to see how he uses that knowledge in a full-time television role.
