Bill Belichick’s extremely impressive resume continues to expand.
The New England Patriots legend is widely considered the greatest coach in NFL history. He’s brought six Super Bowl wins and nine Super Bowl appearances during his two-decade tenure in New England. He’s typically a man of few words when it comes to the public’s eye, but he brought a different side to the NFL 100 series.
Belichick showed a more vibrant side and it brought him a Sports Emmy nomination in the category of “Outstanding Sports Personality-Studio Analyst”, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. He dove deep into the history of the NFL and helped pick out the greatest 100 players.
Bill Belichick, who’s pretty good at coaching, now has been nominated for a Sports Emmy in the category of “Outstanding Sports Personality-Studio Analyst” for his work on the NFL 100 Show. The other nominees: Barkley, Bilas, Al Leiter, Kenny Smith, Michael Strahan and Belichick.

Belichick spoke about the process and how it made him a better coach.
“I learned a lot. I watched a lot of film of players in the ’30s, ’40s, ’50s and the ’60s — quite a bit of that over the summer and last spring, and it was very enlightening in studying the great players in different eras and how the game was played,” Belichick said, via ESPN’s Mike Reiss.
It’s reinforced some things and also opened my eyes to some other areas of coaching on certain fundamental things that I think are critical to the foundation of successful plays, successful teams and successful football.”
Belichick didn’t need anything else to bolster his long list of accolades, but a Sports Emmy on top his football accomplishments would add a nice touch.
The other nominees were TNT’s Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith, ESPN’s Jay Bilas, MLB Network’s Al Leiter and FOX Sports’ Michael Strahan.
