The Tennessee Titans had a disastrous start to the 2021 season on Sunday, as they had their doors blown off by the Arizona Cardinals at Nissan Stadium, losing 38-13.
There is no way around it: the Titans stunk in all facets of the game.
The offense couldn’t get anything going thanks to horrible blocking upfront, and the defense had no answer for Kyler Murray’s athleticism, which helped him extend plays and make things happen down the field.
Even special teams was a disaster, with kicker Michael Badgley missing both an extra point and a field goal in his Titans debut.
The phrase we always hear from Titans head coach Mike Vrabel after games like this one certainly applies here: Tennessee needs to coach better and play better.
With that putrid Week 1 showing now thankfully behind us, let’s examine the biggest takeaways from it and try to find a silver lining in what was otherwise an embarrassing season opener.
