Biggest pregame storylines ahead of LSU vs Florida

The LSU Tigers could start a new QB against Florida this weekend, while also using two new tight ends due to Arik Gilbert opting out.

Max Johnson likely to start at quarterback

Ed Orgeron said in his press conference on Thursday that freshman quarterback Max Johnson has been taking reps in practice with the first team.

Current starter TJ Finley has been the second string quarterback in practice this week.

Finley has struggled on the road, and the team should give Johnson a chance given that he has played well in his minimal role this season.

Starting Johnson would give the coaching staff a better idea of which signal-caller could earn the starting nod in the final game on December 19 against Ole Miss.

But as for Saturday, many think Johnson could give the Tigers the best chance to compete with the Gators.
