It’s Purdue — not Michigan State — that the Big Ten media like to win the league in 2023-24.
The unofficial Big Ten men’s basketball preseason poll was released on Monday, and it was the Boilermakers who were the runaway favorites to win the conference. Purdue received 24 of 28 first-place votes with the remaining four going to the Spartans — who were picked to finish second.
The preseason poll is annually put together by The Athletic and Columbus Dispatch, with this being the highest preseason spot for Michigan State in years. The Spartans and Boilermakers have been considered the hands-down favorites in the Big Ten all offseason.
