Big 12 National Signing Day Recap

Matthew Bain of USA Today breaks down NSD for the Big 12 Conference. Where does Texas rank?

Matthew Bain of USA Today broke down how the Big 12 Conference fared on the early National Signing Day.  According to Bain, the Longhorns come away with the second best class of the conference. Texas is listed second just above the TCU Horned Frogs.

2. Texas — Five-star running back signee Bijan Robinson, a top-20 national prospect, is going to be special. So, too, you figure, will be Texas’ 2020 quarterback recruit: four-star, top-100 prospect Hudson Card, the latest in a long line of star signal-callers from Lake Travis High.

Given the Longhorns top rated recruiting classes year in and year out there is no excuse for a poor season in 2020. For Tom Herman, this could be a make or break season for the third-year head coach. The class that landed four offensive lineman, two quarterbacks and a top running back the offense should be loaded and ready to compete with the Oklahoma Sooners.

On defense they landed Prince Dorbah who likely projects as an outside linebacker and pass rusher for the Longhorns. Along with safety Xavion Alford, they are likely the names who will stand out as four-star recruits. The future of the Texas Longhorns should be a bright one and they need to put it together in 2020.
