Texas Tech has 21 active COVID-19 cases among the football team

ESPN is reporting that the Red Raiders football team has 21 active cases and head coach Matt Wells has stated they will continue practice. The Longhorns are set to play Tech on Sept. 26th in Lubbock.

Texas Tech on Tuesday reported 21 active cases of COVID-19 within its football program but will continue to practice without those who have been placed in self-isolation to prevent further spread of the virus.

Since the middle of June, when the athletic department began transitioning student-athletes back to campus, the athletic department has completed a total of 1,382 tests for COVID-19 among its student-athletes, coaches and staff, with 64 total positive cases. The positivity rate was 4.6 during that span. Of the positive cases, 24 remain active, including the 21 within the Red Raider football program.

Oklahoma Sooners has one position group wiped by COVID-19 testing

Jason Kersey reported the position group was essentially wiped out by COVID-19 testing. Making the second Big 12 school to deal with an outbreak on Tuesday. With students returning to campus, this was expected in some capacity.

UCLA OT Jake Burton transfer to Baylor

Late on Tuesday night we explored the idea of Jake Burton coming to Austin to play right tackle. Shortly after publishing the idea, Burton announced that he will be committing to Baylor.
