Florida men’s basketball officially returns to the court on Tuesday night for its season-opening game against the Elon Phoenixes in the O’Connell Center. Mike White’s squad saw a ton of turnover during the offseason resulting in a brand new look for the hoops program.
The Gators come into the 2021-22 campaign with lower-than-usual expectations, which could be a good thing for White’s transfer-packed roster. The Phoenixes hail from the Colonial Athletic Association, a league that UF holds an all-time 11-3 record against. The two schools have never met on the parquet prior.
According to the Tipico Sportsbook, the spread is set at 15.5 points in favor of the Gators, the over-under at 139.5, and the money lines for Florida and Elon are -5000 and +1300, respectively.
Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. EST on Tuesday inside the O’Connell Center, Gainesville, Florida. The game will be broadcast by the SEC Network+, livestreamed on the ESPN app and can be heard on the Gator IMG Sports Network.
