Early in the second round of the 2021 British Open, Will Zalatoris withdrew due to injury. The No. 20 player in the Golfweek/Sagarin world rankings cited ‘tingling’ in his leg after the first round. BetMGM Sportsbook was quick to announce it would be voiding all bets on Zalatoris for the tournament.
This decision comes a few weeks after BetMGM decided to pay out in full all bets on Jon Rahm at the Memorial Tournament after he was forced to withdraw with a 6-shot lead after the third round.

Zalatoris shot an opening round of 1-under, 69 in his first Open Championship. The 24-year-old broke out with a T-6 finish at the 2020 US Open and followed it up with a runner-up finish at the 2021 Masters Tournament before a T-8 at the PGA Championship. He remains in need of a PGA Tour victory in order to qualify for the FedExCup Playoffs.
