Did you see the opening odds for Michigan’s season opener last week, where an offshore oddsmaker had the Wolverines as the underdog heading into the Minnesota game? Yeah, well, that’s not how U.S. bookmakers see it.
BetMGM released their opening odds for this week in college football, and it turns out that Michigan is the favorite, after all.
According to BetMGM, the Wolverines open the week at -2.5 points against the Golden Gophers with the money line at -134 towards Michigan. It isn’t anticipated to be a high-scoring affair, with the over/under set at 55 points.
Michigan currently sits as the second-favorite to win the Big Ten — behind only Ohio State — with the odds set at +550 to the Buckeyes -250. The maize and blue’s next opponent — Minnesota — is seventh, with odds set at +2500.
Around the Big Ten, Ohio State opens as 26-point favorites against Nebraska, Penn State are 6.5-point favorites over Indiana, Northwestern are 9.5 favorites over Maryland and Iowa are 3.5-point favorites over Purdue. BetMGM has no lines set for any of the other upcoming Big Ten contests at this juncture.
