KNOXVILLE — The first round of the Best Tennessee Team Playoff of the BCS-College Football Era has kicked off.
The third game of the playoff showcased the 2003 Vols against 2009 Tennessee.
2003 Tennessee defeated 2009 UT, 23-20, as kicker James Wilhoit connected on a 38-yard field goal with 28 seconds remaining in the contest.
Quarterback Casey Clausen was 25-of-38 for 302 yards and two touchdowns. Jonathan Crompton finished 28-of-41 for 316 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.
