Both of Penn State’s draft-eligible edge rushers, Adisa Isaac and [autotag]Chop Robinson[/autotag], have had tremendous pre-draft performances. Robinson dominated the NFL combine, perhaps cementing his status as a back-end first-round pick.
Robinson’s 4.48-second 40-yard dash was the second fastest for his position, and his 1.54 10-yard split was tied for fourth among edge defenders at his weight since 2003. His elite athleticism was also on full display throughout his two-year career in Happy Valley after transferring in from Maryland.
Injuries plagued Robinson’s 2023 season as he only started seven games but still recorded three sacks and a forced fumble. In 2022, the Maryland native performance garnered him an All-Big Ten honorable mention. He was a dominant edge presence for the Nittany Lions, posting ten tackles for a loss and 5.5 sacks. Along with Isaac, Robinson was named the best defensive lineman on the team.
Although his Penn State career was brief, Robinson showed how he could potentially be a first-round pick in this month’s NFL draft.
