The Clemson Tigers got their fourth win in a row — and their fourth straight win at Doak Campbell Stadium — on Saturday night with a 29-13 victory over the Florida State Seminoles.
Cade Klubnik threw two first-quarter touchdown passes to help the Tigers build a 17-0 lead after one quarter of play, and the defense was stout for much of the night while holding FSU to under 200 yards until the Seminoles’ last drive with the outcome long decided.
The win moved Clemson (4-1) up to No. 10 in the new AP Top 25 Poll Sunday and to No. 11 in the US LBM Coaches Poll.
The win against Florida State was also the eighth by the Tigers in the series’ last nine meetings dating back to 2015. For Clemson coach Dabo Swinney, it was his 174th career victory, making him the winningest coach in ACC football history and surpassing Bobby Bowden’s mark of 173 wins while coaching at Florida State.
