Auburn opened the season with a dominant 70-52 win over George Mason thanks to a shutdown defense and impressive depth.
The Tigers held the Patriots to just 37.5% shooting from the floor and forced 19 turnovers and blocked 10 shots. They scored 21 points off of the turnovers.
[autotag]Johni Broome[/autotag] did a little bit of everything for Auburn in his debut. He scored 12 points, grabbed six rebounds, blocked four shots, and had two steals in 25 minutes of action.
The Tigers also struggled to make shots, hitting 33.8% of their field goals and just 16% of their three-pointers. However, they went 15-of-20 from the free-throw line in the second half and were able to pull away from the Patriots.
