In his first game playing at TD Garden vs. the NBA-best Boston Celtics, San Antonio Spurs rookie phenom Victor Wembanyama more than held his own against one of the most formidable ball clubs in the league this season. The French big man put up an impressive 27 points, 5 rebounds, an assist, and as many blocks in just 27 minutes of floor time vs. the Celtics.
The 7-foot-4 forward managed to do so while shooting a very efficient 10-of-19 from the floor overall, a less efficient 2-of-6 from beyond the arc, and a near-perfect 5-of-6 from the free throw line against Boston. Wemby did manage to turn the ball over more than is optimal at 5 times in the game, but he only picked up a pair of personal fouls in the process.
