The Cincinnati Bengals appear multiple times on Forbes’ annual look at the highest-paid athletes.
Forbes provides an expansive look at global earnings for superstars based on contracts, endorsements and more.
There, cornerback Trae Waynes checks in at No. 80, while D.J. Reader charts at No. 94.
And while some of this is based on past earnings, the Bengals shouldn’t have a problem featuring at least both of these guys again a year from now.
Cincinnati, after all, inked Waynes to a three-year deal worth $42 million this offseason with $20 million in cash going out during the first year. It also made Reader the highest-paid nose tackle in football, giving him a four-year deal worth $53 million that pays out $22.25 million in cash Year 1.
It’s hard to imagine the Bengals have anyone else that charts on a list like this a year from now, though extensions and outside earnings for guys like A.J. Green and Joe Mixon could change that. Joe Burrow, even on a rookie deal, might have a chance to chart depending on what other earnings he nabs after going first overall.
