Bengals should bring Luke Kuechly home as member of coaching staff

The retired linebacker would look good on the Bengals sideline.

Former Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly surprised recently by announcing his retirement from the game of football.

But while his playing career might be over, that doesn’t mean his love for the game is extinguished.

According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Kuechly could be on an NFL sideline as a coach or consultant in 2020.

And just maybe that sideline could be in his hometown of Cincinnati.

Kuechly, 28, was born and raised in Cincinnati before playing at St. Xavier in the GCL. He then headed off to Boston College before going ninth overall in 2012 draft, beginning a Hall of Fame career.

Now, this is merely an idea. The Bengals just hired linebackers coach Al Golden. But it’s a fun idea and not an unwarranted one, as almost any coaching staff would probably love to have a mind for the game like Kuechly on the sideline in some capacity, grooming him for bigger things.
