Bengals safety Nick Scott says Joe Burrow, new teammates reached out quickly

Nick Scott says teammates made him feel at home right away.

New Cincinnati Bengals safety Nick Scott says his teammates were quick to reach out to him after reports of his deal went public.

One of the guys leading the way? Quarterback Joe Burrow, of course.

Scott also said veteran cornerback Mike Hilton was the one who added him to the group chat for defensive backs.

“Already in the text chain,” Scott said, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. “I’ve received a text from just about everybody in the DB room and linebacker room. (Sam) Hubbard. (Trey) Hendrickson. All those guys reached out already within minutes of me (agreeing to) the deal. That defense embraced me. When you’re tight like that, it makes it easy to be on one accord and play good ball.”

Scott will start next to Dax Hill as the Bengals seek to replace both Vonn Bell and Jessie Bates.

Hilton, one of the big veteran leaders left standing in the room, was quick to reach out. Clearly, other leaders didn’t waste time in beginning to form a relationship with a new starter.
