The Bengals aren’t rushing anything with Joe Burrow right now.

At Back Together Saturday, Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor wasn’t too interested in diving into the details on Joe Burrow’s return from appendix surgery.

Burrow had surgery to remove his appendix earlier this week and hasn’t been seen at training camp since.

And while there’s little reason for concern on this front, the question naturally came up at Saturday’s event.

“We’re trying to give him some privacy and I’m sure he’ll be back in when he’s ready,” Taylor said, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. “I’ve talked to his entire family so you try to leave him alone to an extent.” …

In the interim, Brandon Allen has assumed QB1 duties. The team remains non-bothered by Burrow’s absence in the sense he’s going into Year 3 in the system, he probably wouldn’t be playing in preseason games anyway and the offense doesn’t do actual installs until much later in camp.

So until something dramatically changes, no news is good news on the Burrow front.
