Bengals release first official depth chart of Joe Burrow era

The Cincinnati Bengals have released an updated depth chart.

The Cincinnati Bengals issued their first depth chart of the Joe Burrow era this week ahead of the team’s opening day encounter with the Los Angeles Chargers.

And as expected…no surprises. Most of the starters were easy to see coming. John Ross held off challengers at wideout and will see work in the base offense, as expected.

Defensively, cornerback Darius Phillips is the next man up opposite William Jackson with Trae Waynes officially on injured reserve.

The chart isn’t as archaic and useless as it has been in the past either because it lists a “nickel” defense instead of a basic 4-3 or 3-4. There are only two starting linebackers on the chart — Germaine Pratt and Josh Bynes. Newcomer Mackensie Alexander is the nickel back, again as expected.
