Bengals open as slight favorites over Jets in Week 3

The Bengals get a slight nod in Week 3 lines despite the 0-2 start.

Oddsmakers have started to become less confident in the Cincinnati Bengals after the 0-2 start.

While those Bengals were notable favorites in each of their first two games, that was in danger of outright changing to underdog status quickly after the winless start.

The only saving grace? Their Week 3 opponent is the New York Jets.

As such, according to Tipico Sportsbook, the Bengals are 4.5-point favorites on the road.

That line might be much, much bigger — even away from home — had the Bengals been able to pick up at least one win to this point. Instead, it’s nearing field-goal territory against a Jets team that is in a full-blown rebuild and won’t have its starting quarterback.

Those Jets are 1-1 after taking a 24-9 loss at the hands of the Ravens in Week 1 before pulling off a last-second miracle over the Browns in Week 2, 31-30.

On paper, the Bengals shouldn’t be a terrible play in Week 3, provided one thinks the offense can finally start to rebound and take advantage against a beatable opponent.
