The Cincinnati Bengals needed to make a handful of roster moves coming out of the team’s Week 5 loss to the Green Bay Packers.
First, Cincinnati shifted linebacker Jordan Evans to injured reserve after he suffered a torn ACL on Sunday. He’s a critical loss for Darrin Simmons’ special teams unit.
Second, the team shifted rookie guard Jackson Carman and running back Samaje Perine to the Reserve/COVID-19 list. Vaccination status and other variables will determine whether either can come off the list in time for next weeks’ game on the road against the Detroit Lions.
If the second-round rookie Carman can’t get back, fourth-round rookie D’Ante Smith could get the nod as a starter after a very impressive preseason. If Perine can’t get back, Trayveon Williams likely gets called up from the practice squad.
