The Cincinnati Bengals have again called up players from the practice squad before a game, this time before Sunday’s Week 4 encounter with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Bengals signed guard Alex Redmond and elevated Freedom Akinmoladun and Torry McTyer from the practice squad. In a corresponding move, they sent Mike Daniels to injured reserve.

Under current reserve rules, Daniels is eligible to return to the active roster on October 25, which would be a game against Cleveland.

Redmond, as expected, is clearly the team’s choice to start at right guard next to Bobby Hart.

These moves are in no way surprising given the current circumstances on the roster. The team hasn’t been happy with the play of the offensive line at right guard and a new Mike Daniels injury means it is once again searching for help on the interior of the defensive line — especially with Geno Atkins yet to play in a game this season.
