The Cincinnati Bengals needed to make a handful of minor roster moves to fit new free-agent addition Lawrence Guy.
Tuesday, the team made the signing of Guy official and, to make room for him on the 53-man roster, waived defensive end KJ Henry.
The Bengals had claimed Henry on waivers in late August as depth on the end in response to injuries there, such as Myles Murphy going to injured reserve.
Cincinnati also announced the release of wideout Shedrick Jackson from the practice squad, presumably to later make room for Henry there.
The fact the Bengals felt it necessary to fit Guy right onto the main roster instead of slipping him onto the practice squad speaks to the problems in the trenches.
Both B.J. Hill and Sheldon Rankins suffered injuries in Week 2 and are out for an unknown amount of time, while rookies McKinnley Jackson and Kris Jenkins Jr. are out with injuries, too. Jackson is on injured reserve, while there is no solid return date for Jenkins.
